Nicholas J of All Things Go’s Year in Review counts down the Thirty Best Songs of 2006. Nicholas J’s favorite song for 2006? Maps & Atlases Every Place Is A House!
Nicholas J says:
Hands down, the best song of 2006. Probably the best song of 2005, had it existed (it probably did), but that would be dabbling in Sufjan Steven’s and Minus the Bear’s territory(ies). This band’s music just boggles my mind. The rhythms and melodies are so easily accessible to the everyday listener, but nearly impossible to fully grasp to the experienced musician. The intro on “Every Place Is A House” is so good and intense that I’ve even made it my ringtone.

Congrats to Maps & Atlases for making another top song list, this time at the top!
